Parenting is not easy. Home Start supports families with at least one child under 5 when they need a bit of extra help. Help comes in the form of a volunteer who knows the pressures of family life and can help to see a way forward to regain family balance and independence.

Home Start has operated in Farnham since 1998 and in Haslemere from 2002. We have helped over 500 familes and 1200 children to find a good, independent and productive life

We will be holding our AGM on Friday 17th September at Haslemere Museum, from 10am onwards.  The formal business of the meeting will be followed by our guest speaker, Carole Cockburn, The Mayor of Waverley, and refreshments.

Welcome to Home Start

Home Start Farnham and Haslemere provides home based help to support parents with at least one child under 5 years who are stuggling with the challenges of being a parent.

From its base in Farnham, the scheme supports families in both Farnham and Haslemere and is seeking funding to extend its reach across all the Waverley district of Surrey.

A volunteer who has been a parent will visit for a couple of hours each week for friendship, to help put life in perspective and help parents work though their family problems.

Consequently children have a much better start in life to develop into responsible and productive citizens.
